What Inspired Lem?
Lem never set out to become a lawyer. He went to college to become a journalist because he wanted to write and tell people's stories to change the world for the better. But he realized he needed something more practical to make a living while still helping people. Growing up in West Covina as the youngest son of Filipino immigrants who came to America in the seventies with nothing, he watched his parents work hard without complaining and figure things out. That work ethic became his guiding principle. After law school, his first personal injury client was a young woman who'd been turned away by other attorneys after losing her front teeth in a car accident. When he helped her get her smile back through a good settlement, he knew he'd found his calling.
